NZ Playgrounds

From September 2008

The playgrounds here are further evidence that people in New Zealand aren’t litigious. They aren’t the safest but are really fun. All have see-saws, most have trampolines (I’m glad ours doesn’t) and most have flying foxes. Flying foxes are like a zip line with a seat. They usually are ridiculously high and one by the beach near our house flies over the water. One playground we went to this weekend had play structures that were so big and ropes/monkey bars that were so high that many of the kids playing were young teenagers. Of course there was nothing stopping younger kids from trying those, too. Here are some photos from Kowhai Park, near our house.
