Afternoons with Liska

I'm going to miss these lazy summer afternoons with Liska. She often seems tired early afternoon (maybe conserving her energy for when we pick up Lazlo). We always read, sometimes we play Go Fish or Chutes and Ladders, do art, or pretend we're having a ballet class. Since it seems like everything is processed with nuts, I bake a lot, and Liska joins me in her apron and chef's hat and is quite helpful. When I need to get something done she is good about playing on her own, especially on days when she has kindy in the morning. On those days, I think she welcomes the peace and quiet. Today I made her this gooey stuff out of soap flakes and food coloring and she happily squished, stirred and mashed it while I worked in the kitchen.
